ELA "Prescriptions" are in full effect! Prescriptions are interventions that are "prescribed" for any students who need extra support successfully meeting instructional objectives in that particular subject or who are at risk for falling below grade level expectations. These take-home activities provide extra practice, and children receive parental support to help master any skill(s) they may be struggling with. With these particular ELA Prescriptions, there are explicit directions and an example that students should leave in their communication folders on the "keep at home" side for future reference. The actual Prescription will come home on Fridays in communication folders and will need to be returned the following Friday (just like regular Homefun). If you break down the comprehension/writing component a little bit each day, it should not take more than ten minutes. This gives an entire week to work together on strengthening these particular skills.
