I can't believe our first week of school has already come and gone!! I hope everyone has enjoyed it as much as I have! I realize that most of your children have had the same teacher for two years, and that this week has been a big transition - for both them, and for you. That's why I hope to see everyone at Parent Night on Thursday, August 7, at 6:00pm. This meeting will help to clarify our classroom procedures, as well as the changes that come with being a 3rd grader at Campus School. As a teacher, as well as a parent, I know firsthand how crucial it is to work together in order to ensure the success of your child. With this in mind, I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you over the course of this year, and encourage you to join us in the classroom whenever you are able. We all worked hard this week, but we sure played hard, too...with both old friends, and new!

Introducing...Ms. Osias' Shining Stars!
- Students will need appropriate shoes for P.E. on Mondays and Fridays.
- Our school day begins at 8:00am and ends at 3:00pm. Students need to be picked up by 3:15pm.
- Weather permitting, we will have outdoor recess daily. We will not go outside when the heat index reaches 95 degrees. Students may bring a water bottle to drink in class, and a hat to wear during recess.
- The annual $25.00 Supply Fee is due as soon as possible. This covers your child's planner, blue communication folder, and testing materials. Checks made be made out to CSPN.
- There will be a Parent Meeting on Thursday, August 6, at 6:00pm. I will be presenting very important school and class information at the meeting, including procedures and expectations for the school year. Please make it a priority to attend.
- Daily Homefun begins next week, so be sure to check the blog, as well as your child's planner, for nightly assignments. Homefun is a little different in 3rd grade. Your child will complete Homefun nightly, and return it the following day.

Metamorphosis
Webster's Dictionary defines metamorphosis as "a major change in the appearance or character of someone or something." Like these beautiful butterflies, your children have undergone their own metamorphoses this year. Before they spread their wings and fly off, I want to thank you for the opportunity to be a part of such a momentous year. What a joy! And now, our brilliant butterflies are just about ready to soar into 4th grade...don't blink, you might miss it.
With much love,
Ms.O
